And also great that, as you point out, many feature older women, and are indeed made in the UK. Thanks.Janehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08994872363987967637noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6398614958488349827.post-9258930603269139622012-02-07T13:51:55.311+00:002012-02-07T13:51:55.311+00:00Hi there,

In 2011, there was Scott & Bailey (written by Sally Wainwright and starring Lesley Sharp and Suranne Jones as detective constables and, in a top supporting role as their chief inspector, Amelia Bullmore). It is currently being rerun on ITV3 prior to a new series beginning soon on ITV1. In addition, there was Vera (Brenda Blethyn) currently being reshown on ITV1 and Case Sensitive (Olivia Williams) – these series have also been renewed. In addition, with the exception of Jones, all the detectives are over forty (Blethyn is in her sixties).

There are, of course, loads more series not female led but not a bad threesome really (though I only truly liked S&B because I love Sally Wainwright’s work).

Borgen isn’t a crime drama but it might be the best thing you mentioned.

I’ve seen Homeland and I thought there were also excellent performances by (the underrated) Morena Baccarin and of Morgan Saylor as Brody’s wife and daughter.

Sorry to go on so long.Hazelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06613756536055047713noreply@blogger.com
